About

🤠 Jeff is interested in all things to do with Bitcoin 💎🤘, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology. From the base layer protocols of consensus methods to the social applications of money and finance blockchain is a multidisciplinary field that blends mathematics, computer science, economics, and social science into an exciting and ground-breaking new field of study.

Jeff has been teaching physics and engineering mathematics since 2014 when he joined Auckland University of Technology. In 2018 he developed the first blockchain focussed computer science courses in New Zealand: COMP726 for undergraduates and COMP842 for masters students that have been very popular.

In 2018 he won the Vice Chancellor's Award in Teaching Excellence and was nominated for the National Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards in 2019. In 2023 Jeff won Blockchain Educator and Advocate of the year at the Blockchain NZ Awards.

In 2024 Jeff joined RMIT Vietnam in Software Engineering in Hanoi as a Senior Lecturer. Jeff has a PhD in Computer Science from Auckland University of Technology, a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelors Degree in Automotive Engineering from the University of Windsor.
