Khoa Nguyen is a diasporic Vietnamese screen practitioner and academic and currently serves as the Program Manager of the Digital Film & Video Program at RMIT Vietnam.
Khoa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from UCLA, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Cinema - TV from USC, and a MS in Telecommunication Management from Golden Gate University, He is currently engaged in a Practice-based PhD in Media Communications at RMIT in Melbourne.
Khoa has written and directed 2 feature films and has had a screenplay produced into a feature film in Vietnam. He has nearly twenty years of experience working in the Vietnamese film industry as a Writer/Director/Producer and has co-founded three production companies.
Khoa has worked as an academic for the past 15 years at RMIT Vietnam where he has developed and mentored the next generation of young Vietnamese filmmakers and storytellers. His screen practice research centers around the diasporic Vietnamese identity, return, dialogic cosmopolitanism, nostalgia, and telling stories that would otherwise go untold.
