Overview

The Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) Scholarship opens exclusively to new students who have achieved outstanding academic performance in high school and will be enrolling in the Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) (Honours) program at Hanoi campus.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of Vietnam;
  • Have completed high school with a minimum grade 12 GPA of 8.0/10.0 and an average score of 8.0 for mathematics (grade 12); or IB diploma with a minimum of 29 points in total and 5 points for mathematics; or GCE ‘A’ Levels (UK) of minimum 9 points for three Advanced subjects & 4 points (B) for mathematics (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1), or equivalent;
  • Have IELTS (Academic) 6.5+ (no band below 6.0) or equivalent. For other international English entry requirements, please view the English equivalency requirements (links to the Australian website);
  • Have applied for admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) (Honours) program and meet the program entry requirements (conditional offer may be considered);
  • Be commencing study in the respective Bachelor’s degree program at Hanoi campus in a semester in 2025*.

* If successful, the scholarship will only apply from semester 3 2025 (October 2025).

Note

Once accepted, this scholarship cannot be transferred to another degree program and campus.

Selection criteria

  • Past academic performance will be assessed by the selection committee and ranked according to the eligibility criteria. The top-ranking applicant will be awarded the scholarship.
  • Past academic performance is weighted as follows: 60% Year 12 GPA + 30% Year 11 GPA + 10% Year 10 GPA.

Note

For Vietnamese high school transcripts that do not include a yearly cumulative GPA, the Scholarships Office will calculate the GPA for each year by averaging the GPA of the subjects assessed on the 10-point scale. Subjects assessed as pass/fail will not be included in the calculation.

  • The scholarship application process is highly competitive with a limited number of scholarships available. Unfortunately, not all eligible applicants will receive one
