Overview

This full scholarship opens for disadvantaged students who would not otherwise be able to access Higher Education.

Scholarship Value

  • 100% English and Higher Education tuition fees;
  • RMIT Vietnam’s compulsory non-academic fees;
  • Monthly living stipend of VND 11,000,000;
  • A laptop;
  • Home travel allowance (if applicable).

Eligibility

Successful applicants must:
  • Be a citizen of Vietnam;
  • Have completed High School with grade 12 GPA of minimum 7.0/ 10.0;
  • Have a disability(*) and/or be financially disadvantaged;
  • Be referred by a reputable community organisation (for example: REACH, KOTO, Vietnam Blind Association, Sao Mai Center for the Blind, Loretto, Christina Noble Children's Foundation, HeartReach, Smile, DRD, local Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, etc.).

(*) For example: long-term physical, mental, cognitive, or sensory impairments; or long-term medical condition.

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed relative to opportunity based on the following selection criteria, with applicants’ education opportunities, personal, health, and family circumstances will be taken into account:

Academic potential

  • Evidence of achievement in school or educational activities;
  • Clear and well-written application.

Professional and leadership potential

  • Evidence of self-awareness and achievable study, career, and life goals;
  • Evidence of leadership, collaboration and initiative in school or community activities.

Personal attributes

  •  Evidence of involvement in school or community activities that demonstrate positive personal qualities.

How to apply

1. Check your eligibility

Check your eligibility for the scholarship. Explore and select the undergraduate program at RMIT Vietnam that you are interested in.

2. Prepare your documents

  • A notarised copy of your High School Diploma and Academic Transcripts (those who will be graduating in 2025 may submit the High School Diploma once it’s available but not later than 29 August 2025);
  • An ID photo (size 3x4) taken within 6 months of your submission;
  • A copy of your ID card or passport;
  • A current copy of your CV;
  • Evidence of your English language ability (if any);
  • Evidence of your financial status and health condition;
  • Two reference letters (from 300 words to a maximum of 500 words per letter) that support your eligibility for this scholarship, clearly stating why you should be selected, based on the scholarship selection criteria:
    • One reference letter from a community organisation that the applicant has been involved with for at least 1 year (involved activities: volunteering, working, being sponsored, etc.).
    • The other reference letter must be from the applicant's teacher or school.
  • A personal statement (from 300 words to a maximum of 500 words) stating why you should be awarded the scholarship based on the scholarship selection criteria. Please use the following to guide your writing:
    • Your intended major (program) and goals for university;
    • What knowledge acquired in your intended program will help you achieve the goal?
    • Why RMIT should select you as an opportunity scholarship recipient
    • Your relevant academic, extracurricular, school, community and leadership activities.

3. Submit your application

  1. Combine your supporting documents into one file in .pdf format and upload them to an online storage platform (e.g. GoogleDrive, Onedrive etc.).
  2. Complete and submit the 2025 RMIT Vietnam Opportunity scholarship application form, including links to the required documents by Friday 4 July 2025, 5:00pm GMT +7.

  • Scholarship recipients notified: 26 September 2025

Note

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. Interview date is subject to change
  • For Vietnamese high school transcripts that do not include a yearly cumulative GPA, the Scholarship Office will calculate the GPA for each year by averaging the GPA of the subjects assessed on the 10-point scale. Subjects assessed as pass/fail will not be included in the calculation. 
  • Before applying for the scholarship, we recommend that applicants read the scholarship terms and conditions
  • The scholarship application process is highly competitive with a limited number of scholarships available. Unfortunately, not all eligible applicants will receive one.
