Mr Hossein Davari, Director of School, School of English & University Pathways (SEUP)
With nearly 20 years of experience in international education and the universities pathway sector as a teacher, program coordinator and academic manager both in Australia and overseas, Hossein has developed expertise in academic and operational management, quality assurance, and strategic leadership.
Currently, Hossein is the Director of School of English & University Pathways at RMIT University in Vietnam, where he provides strategic leadership of the School for the delivery of English and pathway programs across all RMIT campuses in Vietnam – Saigon South, Hanoi and Danang, and fosters strong partnerships with local and international stakeholders. Prior to this role, he served as the Director of Teaching and Learning at Taylors College, the pathway college to the University of Sydney, where he had overall responsibility for academic quality assurance and the efficient and effective operational leadership of teaching and learning for the University of Sydney Foundation and Higher Achievers programs as well as Academic English Preparation (AEP) program.
Hossein has held senior educational leadership roles in Australia in the last seven years, including the role of Academic Director at ANU College, the pathway college to the Australian National University, and has contributed to the sector through speaking arrangements on panels and conferences, sharing insights on English language teaching, internationalisation, and quality assurance of English language teaching. Hossein is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), demonstrating his commitment to teaching excellence and leadership in education.
Hossein’s governance experience includes 3.5 years as the Non-Executive Director on the Board of English Australia, where he contributed to strategic planning and sector advocacy for the members and the wider sector. Now, as a member of the NEAS Board, Hossein is eager to bring his knowledge and passion for quality education to further enhance the sector. Hossein is committed to fostering collaboration, supporting professional development, and strengthening Australia’s reputation as a leader in the quality assurance of English language education.
Hossein Davari holds a BA in Translation, an MA in TESOL, a Graduate Diploma in Education and a Graduate Certificate in Management.
