Building bridges for digital transformation: SSC Hub and DXCentre partnership

On November 21, 2024, the RMIT Smart and Sustainable Cities (SSC) Hub met with DXCentre at their office continuing the collaboration established through the MOU signed in June.

This follow-up meeting focused on deepening our partnership to advance digital transformation and smart city initiatives in Ho Chi Minh City.

The discussions emphasized several key areas of collaboration. Both teams explored opportunities to develop educational programs, including courses on digital communication, AI applications, and digital cybersecurity, aimed at enhancing digital skills and awareness among citizens. Plans for supporting research projects were also a major focus, with proposals to involve PhD researchers in practical projects at DXCentre and other relevant organizations to address pressing urban challenges.

Another key highlight of the collaboration between RMIT and DXCentre was the joint research titled "The Role of Digital Society in Vietnam's Sustainable Development: Policy Implications for a New Era". Conducted by Madame Trinh Vo, Director of DXCentre, and led by Dr. Oanh Vu from RMIT University's Management Department, The Business School, the research was presented at the recent Smart and Sustainable Cities Forum 2024. The study examines Vietnam's progress in building a digital society and identifies critical challenges that need to be addressed for sustainable development.
