Historical mapping
Historical mapping of the evolution of the area in connection to the river will be archived through archive documentaries and visualisation research on disruption of the river ecosystem over 100 years in the historical archives in HCMC.
Creative archive
An archive has been developed as part of our contribution to the network. Over the coming months and years, audio-visual and other research material will be added to the archive to build a comprehensive overview of the research and activities undertaken by RMIT Vietnam.
Ethnographic components
Stories of the river as public space and its connection to local communities and the dynamic changes of the river segment will be collected, integrated with local community storytellers, then narrated and documented with the surrounding environment, ecosystem and human ecology using the advanced technology of space observation.
Community participatory methods
Engagement to bring the historical archive to life, together with effort on documenting daily life of the community through crowd sourcing and photovoice. This has a longitudinal storytelling and monitoring effect. It aims to include life history interviews with centenarians who have been living with the river.
