Dr. Ben Scott completed a PhD at Edith Cowan University (ECU), one of only two Academic Centres of Cyber Security Excellence (ACCSE) in Australia. He was a fully funded Cybersecurity Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC) Scholar during his doctoral studies. He has been an Internet Society MANRS Research Fellow and a member of the Interplanetary Network Significant Interest Group (IPNSIG) Technical Documentation Working Group.
His research interests include security data science and engineering, anomaly detection systems, cybersecurity pedagogy, digital forensics, embedded and cyber-physical systems security, and machine learning applications in cybersecurity. His work explores adversarial strategies, defensive and offensive techniques in cyber and information operations, the detection and mitigation of security threats in critical systems, and the role of cyber capabilities in contemporary conflict and strategic communication.
