Professor Robert McClelland is a distinguished academic leader with over 50 years of experience in higher education. Currently serving as Dean of The Business School (TBS), RMIT College of Business and Law, he holds a Ph.D. in Blended and Virtual Learning for Business and is both a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and the Higher Education Academy, He specializes in business learning and evaluating public sector projects, and has supervised 43 doctoral studies, examined 40 more, and authored 150 scholarly works. With expertise in research methods, health and sustainability, he has played key roles in national research assessments. Robert developed as a scientist, senior lecturer, and associate professor in the UK before leading management departments in Southeast Asia. As a mentor and coach, he influences academic and research strategy, notably in statistical and qualitative methods, and business innovation. His legacy includes pioneering open learning degrees and earning the title of the UK's first Associate Professor for Educational Technology in the mid 1990s. Robert excels in international survey projects and executive coaching. His expertise spans statistical analysis, structural equations modeling, and qualitative evaluations. Specializing in dementia management and digital health, he leads the TBS Sustainable Development and Consumption research cluster which has undertaken Horizon projects such as Urban GreenUp and Europe Waste in Humanitarian Operations. He is notable for his work on business engagement and sustainability, Robert's research also impacts global education, nature-based solutions and health initiatives.
