Deepak Kumar Behera holds a Ph.D. degree in economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. His Ph.D. thesis is titled “Health Financing in India: A Fiscal Space Perspective”, where he tries to examine the impact of macroeconomic policies on public expenditure on healthcare and identify alternative revenue mobilisation options at the regional level to prioritise healthcare in India. His research interests include macroeconomics, public finance and policy; global economic issues, development economics; health economics and policy; research methodology, and applied econometrics.
