Overview

This program will equip you with the knowledge and skills to become a creative leader in the contemporary fashion industry. 

You will develop the essential skills to identify and solve problems relating to fashion in diverse global contexts through creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. You will also engage with the industry by focusing on sustainable business models and develop an understanding of design, product management, retail and communications. 

You will be encouraged to develop skills, design approaches and business strategies that are relevant to contemporary fashion systems, recognising the importance of ethical and sustainable practices. 

This program aims to improve fashion practices through theory, industry knowledge and regenerative economic models. Industry workshops and project opportunities can translate into exciting internship and employment possibilities or can even place you upon the entrepreneurial path setting up your own fashion enterprise.

Program structure

Fashion Enterprise Project Launch: In this course, students can either take an internship or submit a proposal for a major project.

Learning, teaching and assessment

  • Teaching and learning in this degree is very practical, providing you with constant hands-on experience. Your experience is structured so that you can learn essential skills and progress to an internship in a real business within Vietnam's expanding fashion industry
  • Your engagement with industry will also include field trips, guest lectures and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) projects. In a recent example of industry engagement, students worked with international companies Inditex, H&M, Woolmark and Li & Fung to develop a new product and to conduct comprehensive merchandising planning
  • You'll be assessed in a variety of ways to ensure that you can curate your skills across the range of areas. Expect a combination of assignments, presentation and project work. Assessment may be both individual, or conducted in groups

As a graduate of this program, you will be able to:

  1. Critically review, analyse and evaluate theory and industry knowledge relevant for fashion enterprise in the global fashion business environment.
  2. Apply a range of creative and commercial skills to successfully practice in a range of roles in the field of fashion enterprise.
  3. Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and innovation to identify and solve problems in diverse contexts within the field of fashion enterprise.
  4. Communicate using a range of formats and strategies to diverse audiences within and external to the fashion enterprise field.
  5. Work with others in a range of roles and contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness through ethical and reflective practice.
  6. Take initiative and apply judgment in planning, problem-solving and decision making in your practice or future study.

Academic requirements

  • Vietnamese Upper Secondary School (High School) Graduation Diploma with a minimum GPA of 7.0/10.0 for Grade 12 (For other international qualifications please view entry requirements by country​

Academic pathway

English requirements

Successfully complete RMIT Vietnam English Advanced, or complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5 (no band below 6.0)
  • TOEFL iBT 79 (with minimum score of 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) 58 (no communication band below 50)
  • C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)) or C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)) 176 (no less than 169 in any component)

Note:

Previous study and proficiency tests are recognised for two years from the completion date or test date to the program commencement date unless stated otherwise.

Where you have achieved more than one form of English language proficiency only the most relevant achievement will be considered in the admission decision.
