Leadership with Action Micro-grant Program

Program overview

The Leadership with Action Micro-grant Program is an exciting initiative by the RMIT Student Leadership and Development Program designed to empower RMIT students to take the lead in creating meaningful change within the university community and beyond. This grant provides funding for student-led projects that align with RMIT Vietnam’s 25th anniversary core concept: Transform, Inspire, Engage, Catalyze, and focus on the key areas of sustainability, inclusion, community impact, and AI and technology.

Through this program, students are encouraged to develop innovative and impactful solutions that address real-world challenges, foster collaboration, and showcase their leadership potential. Projects funded under this grant should contribute to enhancing the student experience and campus environment, creating positive social change, and leaving a lasting impact within the RMIT community and beyond.

The Leadership with Action Micro-Grant Program has a total budget of VND 70,000,000. There is no fixed number of projects to be funded, nor a set budget cap per project. Funding will be awarded based on the quality of proposals, as assessed against the selection criteria and available budget.

About the four core themes

To better illustrate the four core themes, examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

Sustainability

Inclusion

Projects that enhance RMIT’s student experience, foster social change, and leave a lasting impact. Projects should integrate Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) to ensure everyone can participate and benefit. This could include:

  • Events that celebrate diversity with accessible, multilingual, and sensory-friendly activities;
  • Projects that help improve accessibility by addressing physical, digital, or social barriers on campus.

Community Impact

Partnering with local organizations, NGOs, NPOs, etc. to provide educational workshops, social initiatives to support disadvantaged communities, or skill-building programs for vulnerable groups.
