RMIT renews partnership with Adobe

RMIT students who need access to Adobe Creative Cloud software for their studies will continue to have access to the full suite of apps.

RMIT has renewed its partnership with Adobe for another three years, reconfirming its status as an Adobe Creative Campus.

The partnership will continue to support digital fluency and creativity across the University while ensuring that students have access to Adobe programs that match the needs of their studies and research.

From Monday 12 August 2024, all RMIT students will continue to have free access to Adobe Express (Premium) – an easy-to-use content creation platform that is perfect for editing images, social posts, short videos and more.

Students who need more technical programs in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite – such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro – for their RMIT learning or research will continue to have free access to the entire suite.

All students will still have opportunities to take part in group workshops, online learning modules and special Adobe events. All students can also continue to access one-on-one support from Adobe Coaches at the RMIT Adobe Hub and online.

Access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite

Students will continue to have free access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite if you:

need the Adobe Creative Cloud suite for your coursework, assessments or research
are taking an elective that requires you to use Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

If you fall into one of these categories, there is no change to your free access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite. If you are unsure whether you need access to Adobe programs for your studies or research, please await information from your educator, course coordinator or research supervisor. They will be able to confirm before 12 August.

Don’t have access but need it?

If you need the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite for your learning activities or assessments but haven’t been allocated access after 12 August, please speak to your educator and submit a request for access via IT Connect. Please note that the form to request access will be available from 16 August.

Explore Adobe Express (Premium)

If you don’t have access to the full suite of apps and are looking to work on a creative project outside of your studies, remember that everyone has access to Adobe Express (Premium). This easy-to-use platform allows you to edit images, build web pages, create social media posts and more.

Adobe Express (Premium) also comes with a range of tools and resources to empower your creative vision. It has an extensive library of handy content templates, AI-driven design and editing tools like generative fill, access to Adobe fonts and stock images. You’ll also get access to 100gb of cloud storage for free.

You can access Adobe Express (Premium) by logging in with your RMIT email address and password through your web browser. You can also download the Adobe Express mobile app for iPhone or Android.

All you need to do is save your files to your computer before Monday 12 August. It’s recommended that you save any Photoshop and Illustrator files in their original format as you can import these layers into Adobe Express. You will still be able to use any compressed files saved in .jpg, .pdf, .png or .TIFF formats.

If you have an Adobe Portfolio site, all RMIT students can still access this program.

The Adobe Creative Cloud suite (All Apps) is a collection of 20+ professional programs and services from Adobe, such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Dreamweaver and more.

Adobe Express (Premium) is an all-in-one design, photo and video tool that brings the best from the Adobe Creative Cloud suite into one easy to use and intuitive program. With Adobe Express (Premium) you can create your own designs, edit photos and videos, access a range of templates and more. In addition, you can also use Adobe Portfolio to create and host free websites.

Your access will remain active as long as you continue to need one of the Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc) for your courses.

If you’re enrolled in an elective that requires one or more of the All Apps programs, you’ll be given access for the duration of the course. Please note that your access to the full suite will expire two months after completion of the elective course.

If you are enrolled in courses in future semesters that requires access to Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps, you will retain your access while on your leave of absence.

However, if you have only been given access in order to take an elective course, your access will expire two months after completion of the elective course.

Yes. If you have access to the full suite you can use the programs while on work placement/WIL. You can access programs on a computer, mobile and tablets.

Yes, RMIT is still an Adobe Creative Campus. We are one of the largest Creative Campuses in the world.

Yes. RMIT Adobe Coaches will still be available to provide one-on-one support and group workshops. Book a session with one of our coaches today.
