RMIT launches new IELTS program in Da Nang

On 3 October 2024 in Da Nang, RMIT Foreign Language Training Centre in Da Nang officially launched the new IELTS preparation program, marking a breakthrough in English language education in Central Vietnam.

The event was attended by leaders from the Da Nang representatives of various city departments, leaders from the Department of Education and Training of Hai Chau District, and principals from secondary and high schools across Da Nang.

Mr Stuart Turner, Senior Academic English Manager at RMIT Foreign Language Training Centre in Da Nang, emphasised in his speech: "Our new IELTS program not only provides a solid foundation for students to achieve high results in the IELTS exam, but also equips them with essential English skills for academic and professional success."

The launch of the new IELTS program not only marks a significant step in improving English language training at RMIT but also contributes to enhancing the language skills of Da Nang's high-quality workforce. As the city continues to integrate into the global economy, having a strong command of English will help individuals and businesses in Da Nang increase their competitiveness and ensure sustainable development.

Professor Julia Gaimster, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor of RMIT University Vietnam, said: "Proficiency in English is essential for opening doors to academic and professional opportunities. Our improved IELTS program is designed to empower students to achieve academically and to thrive in a globalised world.”

Key features of the new IELTS program:

  • NEAS and RMIT global certified educators: All educators are IELTS experts who are university-employed and hold tertiary qualifications and degrees recognised by NEAS*, ensuring optimal support for each student.
  • One-on-one support outside class hours: A free one-on-one or group tutoring service is available for the students to book outside of class hours to get support from an experienced IELTS expert with their IELTS speaking skills.
  • Detailed personalised feedback especially on writing: The writing tasks with teacher feedback throughout the course will help students become more skilful and fluent in clearly expressing their ideas and views in writing.
  • Active learning support with personalised study plan: Specially designed for IELTS students, RMIT individual guided learner plans promote the students’ autonomy and support optimising students’ progress by active learning in the classroom and at home. This will help target areas of improvement, stay on their learning path, and achieve their academic goals. The individual plans will be regularly reviewed and revised by the teacher to ensure the students meet their learning needs.
  • Free Weekly Study Clubs: In addition to regular lessons, students can join free Weekly Study Clubs to reinforce their knowledge and skills.
  • Extensive practice using online self-access resources: The students will use RMIT’s online workbook system and RMIT’s Extensive Reading and Extensive Listening materials to prepare for your exam, as well as benefit from RMIT’s modern facilities and library with thousands of e-books and materials from RMIT Australia’s system.
  • Guaranteed IELTS outcomes: With modern teaching methods and dedicated educators, there is a guarantee program to ensure a student’s outcomes meet their entry level effectively.
