QS ranks RMIT =123 in the world, 10 in Australia

RMIT University continues to make solid gains in the latest QS World University Rankings, one of the most influential rankings systems in the world.

This year we jumped 17 places to secure equal 123 globally, and 1 place to rank 10 in Australia.

Our improved standing is recognition of the high calibre of our educators and teaching and learning programs as judged by the international academic community, as well as growth in the quality of our research.

Over the past 5 years we have continued to go from strength to strength advancing 115 places, up from 238 in the world.

RMIT Vice-Chancellor Professor Alec Cameron said: “This recognition of RMIT’s standing among our peers at an international level is a direct reflection of our commitment to education that changes lives and research that generates positive impact in complex times.”

The vision of our Knowledge with Action strategy is to be a leading university of impact across the Asia Pacific. With a strong and longstanding presence across Asia, including our major campus in Vietnam and partnerships with many reputable institutions, it’s also really pleasing to see RMIT ranked 36 out of 446 institutions operating in the region.

“While we’re proud of this result, there remains much to do. We will continue to contribute our expertise and prepare our students to do the same, for the betterment of the communities we exist to serve, in Australia, across the region and around the world,” Cameron added.
