New collaborative hub sparks innovation

SPARK Hub, a vibrant centre for industry collaboration, innovation, and incubation, has been launched by RMIT University Vietnam and its partners.

Located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2 at The Sentry P, SPARK Hub is a symbol of the shared vision and collaborative efforts of RMIT Vietnam, Reactor School, and The Sentry.

SPARK Hub's vision is to foster a dynamic environment that nurtures innovation and entrepreneurial ambitions, providing RMIT students and alumni with a supportive platform to grow and flourish. It is a place where academia and industry come together, exemplifying the power of collaboration.

The hub is one of the first 19 projects funded through RMIT Vietnam's Strategic Innovation Challenge. This ongoing challenge supports new ideas and initiatives that contribute to the economic and social prosperity of Vietnam and the region.

Dr Justin Xavier, the lead of SPARK Hub and representing RMIT Vietnam and The Business School, said, "SPARK Hub is not solely about RMIT Vietnam and our partners, it's about supporting the Vietnamese government's aspiration to cultivate 1.5 million digital workers and 100,000 digital companies by 2030."

By the end of 2024, SPARK Hub aims to reach several key milestones. These include the number of startups pre-incubated or initiated at the hub, partnerships and collaborations formed with industry stakeholders, regional events and programs, traineeship and mentorship programs initiated, and workshops, seminars, and events held under the SPARK Hub's banner.

Mr Rusydi Khairul, CEO & Co-Founder of Reactor School, an entrepreneurship education provider for Southeast Asian youth under-30, said, "As we move forward, we eagerly anticipate the SPARK Hub becoming a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in Vietnam and beyond."
