Foundation Studies - a seamless pathway to university

With a curriculum comparable in standard to an Australian year 12 curriculum, you will study the subjects that align with your interests and study goals, gaining the knowledge, skills and confidence you need for future academic success.

  • Intake: February and August
  • Duration: 1 year (2 semesters)

Foundation Studies has 2 streams

Semester 1:

  • Exploring Narratives
  • Foundation Accounting
  • Law and Society
  • Statistics and Probability

Semester 2:

  • Comparative Texts
  • Principles of Economics

2 of the following elective courses:

  • Data Analytics
  • Marketing and Communication
  • Global Studies: Relationships and Trade 
  • Introduction to Software Development

Semester 1:

  • Exploring Narratives
  • Fundamentals of Visual Communication
  • Materials and Design
  • Drawing and Studio Practice

Semester 2:

  • Comparative Texts
  • Studio Investigation

2 of the following elective courses:

  • Multimedia
  • Media: Power and Persuasion
  • Creative Narratives
  • Marketing and Communication

Entry requirements

  • Academic requirement: Pass with a minimum average of 50% (6 subjects, pass with a mark 40/100) in Basic Education Highschool Examination/ Matriculation Examination
  • English requirement: IELTS (Academic) 5.5 (no band below 5.0) or equivalent

Scholarship opportunities

  • Foundation Studies scholarship (50% tuition fee)
  • International Excellence Scholarships (25%-50% tuition fee of the Undergraduate programs)
