RMIT recognised as a top employer in Asia

RMIT University Vietnam has once again been named one of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia’ by HR Asia.

Now in its sixth year, the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards – Vietnam Chapter honoured outstanding organisations across various industries.

According to the organisers, the number of nominations saw a significant increase, with 642 companies vying for an award and over 49,500 employees surveyed.

This year's theme is "Celebrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion”. It recognises and promotes workplaces that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion by placing these values at the forefront of the selection process.

Winning organisations were recognised for their “unwavering dedication to employee satisfaction, welfare, and development”, having “set the standard for others to follow by fostering a positive work environment that promotes growth and excellence”.

Picking up the award on RMIT’s behalf, Executive Director of People Gaynor Witts said: “We are proud to be an employer of choice in education in Vietnam.

“Winning this award is testament to our collaborative culture, and the continuous improvement of our workplace through wellbeing initiatives, life-long learning opportunities and transparent work practices.”

RMIT Vietnam Pro Vice-Chancellor and General Director Professor Claire Macken added: “Building a culture of inclusion and diversity for staff and students is one of RMIT’s values, so the theme of this year’s awards strongly resonates with us.

“For more than 20 years, we have succeeded in creating a warm and courteous environment where everybody in our community is encouraged to be themselves."

RMIT University Vietnam previously won the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia award in 2020, being the first university to do so since the awards came to Vietnam in 2018.

The University currently employs 1,200 staff members in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang.
