As a pioneer in Vietnam’s higher education sector, RMIT Vietnam’s scholarship program has helped produce high-quality employees as well as future leaders of the country, Professor McDonald added.
“Our approach to quality is driven by a focus on the student experience, and in particular on delivering digitally enabled, industry-relevant and work-integrated learning experiences,” she explained. “We work with our industry partners to ensure students are prepared for an ever-changing work environment with skills which are in high demand.”
“Our students graduate work-ready, having taken on Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences that combine academic, professional and personal skills through real-world practice. WIL activities at RMIT Vietnam include internships, projects and work-based learning,” Professor McDonald added.
Personal Edge, RMIT Vietnam’s co-curricular program, further aims to provide students with a competitive edge.
“The program focuses on helping students develop six skill sets, namely the ability to be a creative thinker, confident communicator, cross-cultural team player, ethical leader, digital citizen and career strategist. These industry-relevant and personal skills are very valuable in their lives and careers,” Professor McDonald said.
RMIT University’s quality has been widely recognised by both international organisations and the Vietnamese government. It was ranked among the world’s top 100 universities in engineering (civil and structural; electrical and electronic; and mechanical); accounting and finance; and business and management studies in the 2017 QS Rankings.
“The latest Golden Dragon Award [presented in April 2018], which the University has won every year since 2003, has only added to our reputation,” Professor McDonald shared.
“RMIT Vietnam has also received the Top Trade Services Award from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade six times, as well as the Education Association of Australia (IEAA) Excellence Award in 2015.”
